Les Paul Standard
A favorite of Jimmy Page, the Gibson Les Paul Standard is characterized by the rosewood fretboard and silver hardware as opposed to the gold hardware and ebony fretboard associated with the Les Paul Custom.
Les Paul Standards are usually less expensive than the Customs due to the materials used. The differences are mainly cosmetic and even though it has been said that gold is a better conductor than silver, only the pickup covers are gold plated and a lot of people remove them anyways.
