On most humbuckers rolling back on the volume also rolls back on the high-end of your tone leaving it a bit muddy. To alleviate this you can add a treble bleed (or tone bleed). The easiest way to do this is to put a .001uf capacitor on the volume pot.
There are several variations of this technique. Sometimes the bleed is a bit much and the tone gets too thin. Adding a 100k resistor to the mix will not only lose some of the thinness but also smooth the transition so the bleed comes in more and more as you dial down the volume.
It’s one of those things you have to experiment with. I prefer just the capacitor on both my LP and my Tele.
